The reason GoAMY and Amigamers International exists.
It looks like we're not the only ones that think there is a very strong
need for a publication like Gamers of Amiga. I just this moment finished
reading this letter in the December 1988 Ahoy's Amiga User magazine.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please find enclosed my subscription coupon for Ahoy's Amiga User. I
like your style. If you are open to new ideas, here's mine.
There's one feature I miss in all magazines: a special section with
tips and tricks for solving games. Not reviews, but advice and help.
Best of all would be a game page which could be clipped out and saved
along with the game instructions.
By the way, I strongly believe that such help sheets should be
included in the game package. We do spend a lot of money on games, and
not everybody is a wizard. - Heinz Forstner, Toronto, Ontario
Ahoy's reply...
The feature you describe is one that would be best written by game
players , who could pool their knowledge on hundreds of titles. We
invite gaming enthusiasts to submit their hints: if we receive enough on
a regular basis, we'll devote a column to them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, I would like for you to know that the GoAMY (Gamers of Amiga)
disks are devoted entirely to GAMES on the AMIGA and would like for you
to pass the word. NOW!
I need your help more RIGHT NOW than LATER.
Please write SOMETHING about YOUR Amiga games on your next disk
even if it is only a list divided into the ones you like, dislike
and ones you are going to get next in the order you are going to
get them and WHERE you are getting them.
Please don't send anymore BLANK DISKS. The first word of the
third line of my ad was `share'. This is the most important thing
that will make this project successful. We (you and I) need a
full disk for our 1st official release ((which you can sell copies
for $5 (recommended) if you will so state your intention of
becomming an associate editor)). That'll get us some more members
too to share some gaming stuff. I'm getting tired of buying games
that don't suit my personal likes. Thanks in advance for your
help. Rick Foster, a really gamy character, date 27-Nov -88 01:37
ps; Guidelines for associate editors are elswhere on this disk and are
subject to revision. Only one member of any user group can become an
associate editor so first come etc. and state which group you belong to,
if you are a member. GoAMY is not a user group per se.
